Hi, wondering if something like a genmitsu 4th axis can be used or modded to work with redline, given that onefinity does not have its own for the Apprentice?
On the Apprentice it would probably be the easiest to implement seeing how it in not a closed loop system like the Elite Series. There is nothing inherently special about stepper motors from one manufacturer to the next. For the most part all you need to know is step count and direction. I am guessing the controller box for the Apprentice has the stepper drivers built into the box, so if that is the case than you could try it depending on how badly you want to fiddle around. I know Onefinity is going to tell you you are on your own. If you break something or burn up your controller again they are going to tell you, you are on your own. It is not going to be just plug and play and there are some risks. Can it be done, yeah…will it be a fair amount of work and will you break something trying…good chance.
@Cncrabbit If you have a particular rotary in mind, post the link or shoot me an email at support@realtimecnc.com and I can check if it is compatible.
We’re evaluating how many apprentice users want a rotary add-on. The more users who want it, the higher on our priority list it will go.
Hi, genmitsu sell the following. Thanks for your help.
In regards to this evaluation, I recently ordered an apprentice and I am interested in a rotary add-on for the apprentice.
It seems to me there is always a way to make it work.
Hello, I ordered an apprentice and would be interested on the 4th axis too!
Greetings, I just ordered the Apprentice this morning. I too am very interested in a rotary add-on.
