A few years back I had wanted to make a candy coffin for Halloween. I saw a video on YouTube from SJS Sawdust with a clean and simple design made on his CNC. I’ve wanted to make one since then, and I finally got around to it in time for Halloween this year. I used some MDF that was laying around from a previous project.
Question - My initial plan was to light up the inside of the coffin with an LED light on the bottom and some green acrylic over the light to make it shine green from the box. When I couldn’t get ahold of any green acrylic in time for my build, I changed plans and used glow in the dark powder mixed into resin. Still really awesome, but the LED would have provided much more consistent brightness. I may still go back and add acrylic later to get the job done as I originally planned. I have no experience cutting acrylic with the CNC, so do you have any tips? Would it be better to cut it was a laser?
If you are interested in seeing the making of the candy coffin, I made a relatively short build video. It is not an instructional how-to video, but you can see all the steps that I took to make it. https://youtu.be/jjXoLlurJkQ
