Hi everyone,
I’m new to Onefinity and am just getting acquainted with my Woodworker Pro. I’m a bit confused about the Config Backup function.
I tried to use this function from the touch screen assuming it would backup the config to the internal SD card but I got an error message.
So I tried backing up the config via my laptop (Windows 10 + Microsoft Edge) linked over WiFi and I get the same error message.
Strange thing is, when using the laptop, a ZIP file is created in the laptop’s download folder.
I don’t know if the newly created zip file has a valid config inside it or not.
Anyone else experience this?
Thanks,
Mike
Problem solved!
First, here are a few things that Onefinity Support told me about the CONFIGURATION BACKUP command.
-
It will not backup to a flash drive - it only works from a networked computer.
-
Beginning with software version 1.4.1 the backup file it creates is in ZIP format and is stored on the networked computer.
-
Inside the ZIP file will be a file in .JSON format which is the config file.
-
Also inside the ZIP file will be a separate backup file of your MACROS if you have any. My file has a .NGC extension.
Why I got the error message:
I had no macros to back up! During my testing, once I created a simple macro and assigned it to the macro 1 button, everything went as expected with no error message.
Just to be clear, you don’t have to create a macro to do a config backup. It will still save a ZIP file that includes your configuration. But it will complain that there was no Macro file by showing the error message I posted above.
