I have my Onefinity Forman Pro controller connected to my WIFI network and am trying to load ngc files, but they are not recognized by the CNC. When I navigate to the location that has the files, the controller shows a blank directory.
My steps:
Created a flattening toolpath in Carveco Maker (first job on this machine, flattening my spoil board)
Clicked the “Save Toolpaths” button
Selected “Onefinity - BB (inch) (*.ngc)” for the machine file format (I’ve tried metric as well, and have also creating the file using the Elite option - same behavior)
Gave the file a name of “flatten”
Selected a folder on my desktop called “CNC”
Clicked the “Save” button
Confirmed the “flatten.ngc” file exists in “C:\Users,my_user\Desktop\CNC”
Opened a browser and navigated to the IP address of the CNC controller
Clicked the upload/open button
Navigated to “C:\Users\mikes\Desktop\CNC”
The folder appears to be empty
I’ve also tried the process using multiple USB drives of different brands and sizes, as well as have followed the troubleshooting steps located here:
The behavior is the same with a USB drive.
I’ve also tried *.nc and *.gcode extensions but haven’t had any luck getting files to show up in when searching for them from the controller.
I have also tried multiple local networks. Everything else works remotely, such as homing commands, jogging and power/rebooting.
I’m running version 1.4.0 firmware and checked for updates - this version appears to be the latest. I’ve power-cycled many, many times.
I have tried both, but now that you mention it, folders aren’t showing up in the controllers file/folder upload dialog, either. For example, I put a few *.ngc files in USB the root, as well as in a directory called “toolpaths”. When I select either upload file or folder buttons, and then open the thumb drive, I don’t see the files or the folder.
As a test, I tried to create a folder on the USB drive from the upload file dialog (the folder icon with the + on it) but got a permissions issue. I have some new USB drives on the way so I’ll give them a shot. I’ll also try troubleshooting my local network and the PC I’m using to connect to the controller. There might be a network or firewall setting that’s causing the issue. I’ll post an update as soon as I have one.
If you click “upload” on the Onefinity User Interface in a web browser on a remote computer, you should get the usual “Open file…” dialog on your computer, which allows access to the entire filesystem of the remote computer.
