I have the 48" rotary on order, but since I’ve added a non OneFinity ATC along my Y axis, leaving less space than required to run the rotary along the X axis. I don’t want to run the rotary on the Y.
Would it be reasonable to simply cut the rails down a few inches to make it fit? I’m not even sure what saw I’d use to do so…but I don’t see what not.
take it to a machine shop. They can turn it in a lathe to do it cleanly with carbide tooling and thread the holes properly. do not use a saw of any kind those are hardened steel rails. Not mild steel.
