Good Evening everyone. I just got my forman Gen 2 with Redline Controller and tool setter with ATC. I keep having an issue when I run my first surfacing where it initially plunges to deep and becomes jammed. Let me explain my process and if you can help or ask questions to assist me that would be great.
For this I will leave the ATC disabled and manually install a 1 inch surface bit. So i home the maching. I then place the bit in and jog the machine to a location front left corner 1 inch from edge on x and y while lowering z to top of waste board. I then select zero all on the redline. I then raise z slightly and jog the machine back to get the y axis of the workspace from redline. I then jog the machine to the right to get the x axis of work space. I then get the tool set from redline and the spindle offset frm the redline. From there I pause and go to vcarve I enter my jobs space x you and z. Set start from bottom left. I then make a box 1 inch smaller then job space and center box with F9. I then go to toolpath select a 1/4 in downcut bit. I do a step off of 50%. My cut path is .5 mm. My depth pass is 0.0425. I then create tool path. Preview, save and then save gcode. I send code via web gui to redline. At the redline select the file and start. Spindle goes up to 18000 rpm. Then spindle moves to front right position and plunges. When it plunges it then goes deep travels left a few mm, but because it is so deep it tears the mdf and jams. I can’t seem to tell what is going wrong thoughts? Below are my final settings. Thank you.
