Thank you all for seeing me through this 1st timer’s faux pas, I really appreciate all your help in seeing me through this…
So here’s my ‘meh’ bald eagle first project. Doesn’t look too bad, not too hot either, but it was my first to test the 1F woodworker, a proof of concept…. So to speak.
I used a .250 Flat End Mill for the Roughing, and a .125 Ball Nose for the Finish. I didn’t want to take hours running this carve so I reduced it down to 4” x 4”, and pulled the whole thing off within ~75 minutes.
So now I’m off to more refined work, and I would like better details than this eagle head. I find it a bit scruffy. Most of the stuff that I intend on working on will be 2.5D and 3D Carves, Wall Plaques etc.
I’d like to take the opportunity to tap the knowledgeable minds of the OneFinity Forum Members that are most inclined; for their tips on getting the best results and details and using the correct bits for my applications.
BTW, I’d like to get awesome details, but not run 24 hr cuts.
