I know to use Easel, I need to go to “advanced” under machine, then export g code and save it. I have one specific question.
In easel, when I cut on my Millright directly, I confirm that the spindle is on and then I click “raise router bit.” When exporting G Code, does that router bit raising get factored in? Or should my router blade be zeroed to the surface of the material before running G code?
Thanks! Just put together my Woodworker and I’m stoked to see everything it can do.
I use Easel all the time, its a good question. The code from Easel does not include “Zeroing” your machine. Once you load the GCode into OF you just click on the Zero XYZ button and follow the onscreen prompts to zero to your work surface. From there you are good to go. I also suggest Homing your machine when you boot up every time as well, some folks have great luck skipping this step but I find it easier just to spend the 20 seconds doing it.
Welcome to the community BTW… If you search Easel on the forums I and others have written quite a bit on the topic.
