Took me an embarrassingly long time to finish! But it came out more or less how it was supposed to. Some novel joinery in there (mostly because I don’t know any better). Pretty much just table saw & 1F, so had to do all the jointing and planing &c on the 1F too.
I love me some walnut!!!
Very nice lines to it.
I like the curves & cutbacks on the legs.
Great work!

For sure that is an heirloom piece you should be proud of! It has great lines and looks like it it may have been a project that moved you out of your comfort zone to complete. i particularly find the curved front most pleasing and eye catching.
As to how long it may have taken, you were rewarded in the end with something quite outstanding. Besides, if you’re not working commercially, the journey is often what is most important.
Nice and clean looking. Has the art deco style to it!!! Good work.
I build some furniture, tables, desk and so on, this is amazing nice piece especially considering it is the first for you.
Great work.

Very nice design and implementation! Was it an original design? Did you use CAD?
Thanks! Fusion360 was clutch (though I probably spent 3 hrs clicking for every hour cutting/sanding/finishing &c). I started from scratch, simplifying from a crazy-ambitious plan I was noodling for the not-exactly-matching table on the other side of the bed (my next project – watch this space in c.2037). I don’t know the 1st thing about furniture design, so I was very nervous about getting proportions & details right, but was glad to see that even without any declarative design knowledge I had strong reactions to renderings of the draft designs that let me dial in a balance I was comfortable with. Even modeled the bed so I could get a sense of scale. F360’s parametric modeling was clutch for that, I could easily tune all the dimensions and get a good sense for the implications (& my 1st set of guesses for shelf height, apron size, leg widths, … were VERY different from where I ended up). The modeled table’s a pretty good likeness (see F360 pic). Ended up generating 43 toolpaths for the table & a couple of associated jigs.
Beautifully done, keep up the great work!
Excellent work, good job leveraging Fusion in this project. I see your 3:1 time ratio, it always seems like a design can be fine tuned. For those comfortable with using a parametric approach it’s a great way for the design to evolve before final build.
