is theren a way to draw a simple line in carbide create?
Yes.
First, under ‘Create Vector’ click on the ‘Z’ shaped icon.
Click anywhere in the workpane to begin drawing your line. A second click will set the next node. At this point, you can continue clicking to make more nodes and draw a new shape, or move your mouse back over to the left panel and click ‘Done’ for a simple two node straight line.
You should wind up with something like this as a simple line.
Keep in mind that this line is not able to be used to cut anything. Any line or shape that is “wrong” will appear like this:
If what you’re actually wanting to do is cut a straight line in your material, then here’s a simple method for you:
Click the square shape like this:
Draw a square, then resize it down to a super narrow height.
You’ll wind up with something like this:
Now you just move that around as you see fit, and you can assign it a toolpath to cut under the ‘Toolpaths’ tab as it is now a viable vector!
