There’s pictures and videos talking about how the newer AirWeight slats should mount directly to the qcw rails after removing the existing spoil boards, but no real explanation of how to actually do that? I see there are long slots on the bottom that align with the spoil board holes but no clarity on what fasteners to use? It would be a bad day if you did this wrong and punctured all of the slats by mistake. Can anyone shed some light on the correct procedure and fastener to use?
Our Vacuum Slat Systems are designed to fit with the secure-from-below QCW frame. Underside access is required to complete the installation as intended. The included black truss head screws go up from underneath, through the holes in the QCW and thread directly into the plenum material of the AirWeights Slats. The slots you mentioned in the base plate are to allow for forward and aft adjustment in the Y-direction for Onefinity accessories that are mounted to the front rail of the QCW.
Note that the fastening and alignment procedure go hand-in-hand. We highly recommend positioning and squaring your slats to your CNC by using the CNC. For details on how to do this, please check out these instructions: AirWeights QCW Vacuum Slats Installation Instructions
Our installation video is in process and should be wrapped up next week. Thank you for your patience and we’re available to support by contact form, email or phone if you ever need us.
