I built a vacuum clamping system

How’s this for a CNC vacuum clamping system?

I still have to make a few more pods and the T-track table to secure them.

That’s one serious vacuum pump! I assume the vacuum accumulator tank is a portable compressor tank. Quite an impressive setup. Thanks for sharing

I just finished mine couple days ago, definitely a smaller brother of yours

I plan on using this 8" by 7" vacuum puck on some smaller projects + making 3 more for a bigger ones.
Also doing a tiny one tomorrow, 5.5" x 3.5" for business cards engravings, idea from this YT : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdSVMygb450&t=1s
I would say the hardest part was finding pipe fittings coming out from the pump. Things you learn when you find out the flare thread is not the same as NPT

What projects do you use your vacuum system for?

Some asked how I planned on anchoring the vacuum pods I have been making. My T-track table is done. What I like about it is that the vacuum tubing tucks down into the tracks to stay organized and out of the way.

That vacuum clamping system looks awesome! Your setup seems really efficient, especially with the T-track table to keep everything organized. I’m also working on a vacuum system for my projects and found sourcing parts a bit tricky. What kinds of projects do you plan to tackle with your system?

Thank you!

I plan on making items that I can sell online and easily ship.

Looks really good, I will be making one at some stage.
Can I ask what vacuum pump you are using? I am looking for a good continuous operation (dry/oil less) one that doesn’t break the bank. I found some on ebay( not sure if good or not around £200) but want to know if anyone has any better suggestions. the alternatives are (£700-800£+) which I cannot justify as I wont have time to use it that often.

Suggestions appreciated.

I got the pump from Air Weights. It is the more expensive of the two they offer ($800), but they also sell one for $400, which is a very nice pump too. That would work fine.
