Here’s a quick product intro that improves the performance of many dust boots with the Redline spindle.
Where can I purchase this to print?
I’ll post a printable version this evening. Good idea!
If you purchase and print can you share a picture of the complete assembly when it’s done?
Will do. . It Will be next week after I put the whole machine together.
Hey, great idea! do you know is the big suck will work with the automatic tool changer by chance?
I just had this printed. Can you link the inserts and screws you used when you get a chance?
The Big Suck will work as well as the Pwn v9, but I don’t think that’s very well. I highly recommend the Sidekick for any ATC. It’s got some big advantages over other boots when it comes to ATCs. First, it has a sensor that detects the position of the boot, so it will pause the machine if the boot ever doesn’t move for any reason. This can prevent damage, and is a very nice thing to have. It’s also got quick change brush tracks, so you can quickly change the brush length whenever you want to. It leaves the front accessory mount free for use with accessories, and even adds additional potential to mount accessories. This is big for those with lasers or cameras and the like. It also won’t crash into your Masso display when the machine homes, since the air flow is directed to the side. This is another great safety feature and prevents the needs for other accessories to solve that problem. It also comes in 2.5" and 4" versions and even supports Fein and Festool dust collectors with an additional adapter.
These should be good:
Pick the M5 7mm option.
Hey I bought these and don’t think they work. Is the threaded insert supposed to fully fit in flush? It’s too big and also the 8mm screw is too small and doesn’t protrude enough. Maybe I’m missing something
Use a soldering iron to embed the insert into the print.
That is quite the modification. Perhaps I should just put the part on first to see if I even need screws
If you do need screws, you dont need the inserts, just use screws that are a tad bigger than the holes, they shoud hold fine.
Edit: actually this probably wont work.
