I am going to want some soon as I can get them. I am going to be using a Vesa monitor lift mount for my redline HMI. When I finish building my table.
My standard cables reached OK
cool thanks for the info.
I asked the same question a few months ago about the Redline Foreman as I want to mount all the electronics away from the table so I can tilt & store it without having to unplug the connectors. Those ought not be subjected to a lot of insertion & removal activity.
OF said they were working on extension cables. When I get to a lull in things I will probably make up my own since it’s been radio silence since their initial post on it.
shouldn’t be all that hard to make cables. just research to find the right connectors and what wires to use. I love the idea of getting the HMI away from the table and dust and be able to place it at the height I like. much more comfortable.
No, not hard. But it’s a PITA because it uses connectors I don’t have so I’ll need to buy a bunch of them and you can’t just buy the number you need - 25 or 50 seems to be the standard packaging size
Same with stuff like the cable bundle sheathing. I’d end up with a bunch of extra stuff I’ll hate to throw away so it doesn’t end up taking up room and pushing me one step closer to hoarder status ![]()
Figured if they made the cables it would cost me more but be a lot easier.
how about I pay for half the supplies and you make the cables for both of us? less waste and you save some money?
Couple of things regarding connectors…
I’m assuming you might be looking at the “place that sells everything”, otherwise known as Amazon.
Try looking at an electronics supply house like Digikey (digikey.com) for connectors. You can purchase in small quantity genuine “Molex” connectors, often for less than Amazon look-alike knockoffs. You might have to do a little work because the connector shells and pins are sold separately since different pins can accommodate different wire sizes or be male or female.
Maybe OF or RL could supply the part numbers for the connectors they use to help those of us who might be inclined to DIY their own custom cables. Attached is a list of connectors that OF provided some time ago for those of us who have the BB controller.
Yeah - Digikey & Mouser are good sources. Google’s image search is handy to figure out what the connector is to help in the search. Amazon is good for delivery speed.
Although (digression here) they’re not shipping as fast as in the past. I’ve noticed it’s now 4-5 days to get Prime stuff. The transit speed (USPS, UPS) is still the same, just that they don’t actually ship it out as fast as they used to. If the smaller guys started shipping faster they could start taking business away from Amazon. Get it in the mail same/next day and even without the accelerated transition time that Amazon has negotiated, they’d have comparable order-to-delivery times without the Bezos support.
MCMaster Carr is a great source for just about anything
We are working on getting some official ones to offer, but we don’t have an eta yet.
When I get an order for my ultra-low-profile clamps, I get them in the mail same day or the next morning. Customer service makes a big difference when you are a small manufacturer. like everyone else I hate to order ordinary things and then it takes them 5 days to even ship it. noy talking about onefinity . CNCs are far from ordinary things. 1F’s shipping has been as good as I could want.
Glad to hear our shipping has been good for you, Robert!
