Joystick Compatibility (solved)

My faithful old joystick, which I got with my original machine purchase several years ago, finally bit the dust. I ordered the ESM-9013, and got it a couple of weeks ago. In the meantime, the ESM-9013 has disappeared from the OF website to be replaced by the newest version of the joystick.

I’m expecting my Gen-2 upgrade to arrive next month, and I would like to know if the 9013 is fully compatible with the Redline controller. I ran across a post that mentioned that the 9013 doesn’t control the Redline’s jog speed (ABCD buttons on my joystick). That capability is important to me. I’ve gotten confusing advice between OF tech support and customer support, although both assure me that I have no problem.

I’d appreciate hearing from anyone currently running the 9013-Redline setup to let me know of any problems that I need to be aware of.

As always, thanks.

And we’re ensuring you a third time  IT will work and it will control your speed.

On the redline, the button layout different than the bb, but all the functionality is the same.

Thank you for your patience, but I’m talking about the ‘ABCD’ buttons on the 9013, not the Redline buttons. Customer service said the speed is controlled by the “shoulder buttons”, which as far as I know, lock the X or Y axis. Hence the confusion.

The button layout is different on the redline (with the same joypad).

That clears up my issue, thanks again.
