It is an easy way to surface any wood. Just remember the +/- 1/2 * bit-width and you can surface any material. I just did an old plank of hardwood with great results.
I eyeballed the X-Y and zeroed it. Then used 80g paper for Z height. As the wood was very uneven I did the Z height at the HIGHEST point of the wood and then took of 15mm (yes it was wonky.
End result was a nice Valentines gift for my wife
