I’ve got the toolsetter functioning. Why is the z figure set to spoilboard instead of material surface? The program is loaded, so it knows the thickness of the material to cut. Am I missing something? Probably, I do that often.
The tool setter has nothing to do with the Z setting, when I start my machine and home it, the tool should go to the tool setter and go down and touch off and go up and stop, at this point I jog the tool to the work piece and move the tool to touch the top of the work piece, or if you use the spoil board surface, and then zero out Z. however you did in your CAM software. If you have multiple tools in your program, when it asks for a tool change it will probe the new tool and automatically be set for Z zero and resume machining.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it and as I said in my original post I missed something and what you explained is what I missed. Thanks
