I have used Mach3/4 in the past and there was an option to set a message to pop up on the screen prior to probing, reminding you to install the magnet. Is there something similar on the Masso controller? I haven’t been able to find anything about that option. Is this something that is possible with the Redline controller?
Yes, the redline controller has a walk though and animations and part of it is to attaché the magnet and test the probe.
That is great to hear! Is it not possible on the Masso?
Not that we are aware of.
I have considered, but have not yet implemented, drilling and tapping a hole on the surface block. Then adding a bolt, and sticking the magnet to the bolt when not in use. That way when you forget to put the magnet on the bit, Masso would fail to even start descending onto the touch pad.
That’s why I took a sharpie and wrote on both side of the probe block,
” DON’T FORGET THE MAGNET!”
That is a great idea! I would just be worried about possibly forgetting to put the magnet back on the bolt or it getting bumped off and not noticing.
