Onefinity Gen 2

I have searched this forum but I have been unable to find the answer to this question. First, let me say I do not own a CNC machine, yet.

I have order a Onefinity Gen 2 Foreman. It is suppose to be sometime February. I have been watching s LOT of YouTube videos, I have downloaded the trial version of V-Carve Pro. I wanted to get a head start on the learning curve. Which brings me to my question:

Is there a Checklist or Order of Operations for the Redline Controller, similar to the one Order of Operations for the MASO Controller?

Thank you in advance.

In general, your workflow should be identical, but it may be helpful if you shared what you mean by “Order of Operations for the Masso controller”.

There are a growing number of ‘How to’ videos on the Redline website that may be related to your question - see link below - with instructions on homing, file upload, and setting work coordinate zeros.

One of the videos I saw was by Mitchell’s Woodworks. He had a step by step procedure from turning on the Maso, using G-Codes set Home, machine Zero, Material Zero, Tool Setter, Location to change tools, return to carving, etc. Would be interested in a similar procedure for the Redline Controller.

As I said, I am just trying to get a head start on the learning curve.

Thank you for your response.

I’ve found Mitchell’s video’s helpful and have been following the same procedure and it works for me on a Redline Gen 1 Batch 2, other than some nice additions on Gen 2 I don’t think there will be any significant difference in procedures, FWIW.

As I get more familiar with the machine, I may see if there are any extra steps in there I’m missing or can be removed, but I suspect given his obvious experience that his check list is pretty refined.

The hard part is just getting enough repetition in to have that deeper understanding of why those steps are needed. I think Mitchell did a fine job of explaining the why. Currently I’m still to excited to get on the machine and start cutting to really try and slow down and internalize the process. Being able to just ‘following instructions’ has helped. Not a great long term strategy, but in the short term, I’m thankful I’m not trying to sort it all from scratch.

I think you’re on the right track to start wrapping you head around that process now.

Cheers.
