New redline controller? do i need it?

I barely got my Masso delivered and hardly used it (still learning), and they come out with a brand-new controller designed uniquely for the onefinity machine? I don’t know if I should be impressed or teed off, but I am tending toward Rage! but first I need more information like what feature does it have will it be able to change “modes” to go from revolution to cnc and back again with like one easy click, and so on? will there be some sort of trade in on the Masso? etc. etc. etc. please don’t make this another waiting nightmare.

There will always be something new coming out at Onefinity  that doesn’t make what we you have any less than what it already is!
What you already have is a top of the line Cnc with a great controller.

If what I have is top of the line, why then make a brand new one? Is it not better than what I have now? If so, then what I have is not top of the line is it? All I am saying is that I wish I had known that onefinity/ redline were working on a better controller (yes it looks and seems much better) with a far greater ability to update and support the machines and accessories we all have and love. I will be wanting it. :alien: So, Thank you damn it!

What makes it better? Nobody even knows anything about it yet.

How did you conclude that it has “far greater ability to update and support…”? What does that even mean?

…looks and seems much better”? In what way? I’m fascinated by this kind of thinking. The truth is, that it won’t do anything you can’t do right now. You might think it looks cooler to have all your accessories match, and if that’s what you need, then that’s what you need. Kinda like trying to find the final beanie baby to complete the collection. But lets not pretend that there’s anything new under the sun just because of a youtube video. Or making assumptions that have yet to be substantiated.

Spend your dollars however you see fit, but it’s my calling to shine a light on bs logic whenever I see it. Enjoy.

Ouch! Ok so here is my thinking on this. Masso does not give a flying fortune about onefinity users needs, wants, or concerns, and their history reflects that attitude. Redline seems to want to cater to what onfinity users desire. Onefinity will be a lot more involved with this controller enhancing their products functionality than Masso ever was. So yeah, it believe it will be better. I see a lot more potential for enhancements to Onefinity’s functionality than Masso’s history has shown us, but as always, the jury is still out. I just see a lot more positive potential in this arrangement. I would rather be positive than negative.

Hmm I just ordered a Masso upgrade/Redline Spindle for my Pro Journeyman two days ago, and am wondering when the official announcement with all the features/prices will be coming out?

That Redline looks like it could be the best of both worlds.

You are correct…Masso doesn’t give a hoot about 1F’s user’s needs. Why should they? They make a cnc controller…period. It’s list of intended uses is longer than this forum.

Do you think that General Motors or Ford give a damn about the specific needs of a Door Dash delivery person or an Uber driver?

But "…I believe it will be better" Seems to be more than enough these days. Which is the reason my grand daughters have to listen to how they were born broken, dirty, and sinful from their volleyball coach at a PUBLIC school. And that a magic wizard in the sky will make it all better. This is why I come down quick and hard on willful abandonment of critical thinking. Nothing personal.

That made me laugh…

I just want to jump in to share my experience with Masso.
Onefinity was the first CNC I has ever purchased and used, this was about 4 years ago now. I knew at the time I wanted a different controller, so purchased the Masso G3. My research showed it the best fit for my needs, and although expensive at the time, I have never regretted my purchase.

I have been active on the Onefinity and Masso forums for about 5 years now.
Much of that time has been seeking assistance and making feature requests on the Masso forum. From my experience Masso has done an excellent job listening to and addressing the wants and concerns of their users. I have of late been disappointed with the time delays between stable releases, but with each one numerous feature requests have been implemented. So as a Onefinity my experience does not your statement about their lack of interest in my needs or wants.

Having said that, I am very excited to see what the new Redline controller offers, and am looking forward to seeing more details and some videos highlighting its functionality.

That looks like an amazing price considering I just dropped nearly the same for an upgrade/spindle/toolsetter/stiffy upgrade. I think I’m going to cancel my order and wait for this one.

Onefinity, is there a list we can get on for the limited quantity packages that are listed?

This is an objective and rational reply. It stands out like a sore thumb on this forum.

I find this very interesting. I’m curious if it brings back the wired network connectivity, which I’ve missed since going from the Buildbotics to the Masso. I also hope it has the ability to use a pendant. I’ve also missed the Buildbotics web interface which is pretty cool and way more functional than the Masso Connect app. It will be great to see that again.

The video seems to suggest that they will.

If you haven’t, there is a video linked mid-way through the thread.

conflating someone upset with what’s going on in our country and feeling compelled to call out a “willful abandonment of critical thinking” which was in fact not the case seems like a stretch. The video that I’m quite certain OP alluded to was pretty descriptive as to what the Redline CNC does that the Masso could not. You assuming this without watching the video is more of an abandonment of critical thinking imo, and neither really are.

where did you see a price?

It’s right at 6:30 in this video.

I want to cancel my order and get in on this now.

The mentality that drives these thought processes are one in the same. One is only slightly less insidious than the other.

By assuming that I made assumptions without watching the video…you’re assuming that I didn’t watch the video. See how this works brother?

You replied in such a way that was based on either conjecture or vitriol for no apparent reason. It’s one or the other, and either way it says more about how you think than the OP or people on this forum.

Vitriol toward religion…most definitely!

Conjecture? Do you think conjecture means pointing out flawed logic?
