Pay for toolpath design

Hello, I am interested to see if anyone has any advice on outsourcing tool path design. I have been ok with simple designs but I am trying to design a more complex drawing for a bookcase. I have the svg file but I am having difficulty solving the tool paths. Thank you. Greg

are you trying to do an inlay or just pocket that to fill with something?

mack bookcase Changed.crv (4.9 MB) I don’t use epoxy much but i assume .08 is deep enough for it to work. its a simple vcarve using 1/8 down cut to clear then 30 degree v bit. let me know why this doesn’t work please if it that’s the case.

0.125 is best so you have room at sand and you don’t lose detail. I also recommend sealing before pouring to avoid bleeding.

I am slowly getting there and i truly appreciate your help. I wanted to make the cuts a little deeper so that after I put the epoxy in and sand it back i will have a little room to work with. I tried changing the flat depth to 0.125 but it didn’t change the bird image?

i used the last file above which has more depth but even after looking at the toolpaths, I cannot see where the changes were made despite the preview image looking better. What was the difference in the toolpaths from the last image above and the first image you created?

mack bookcase Changed.crv (13.2 MB)here it is at .125 flat depth. the first file i gave you was just a vcarve on the vectors you gave me and the second one, and also the this one have the vector offset inwards and those selected too with the vcarve gives me the inverse. this might do better with a 60 degree v bit rather than a 30, i would test it on a scrap piece

I have done some test cuts. I’ll send you some pictures once I get the epoxy sanded down it looks better.

I have made some test cuts and I’ve actually made some progress.
The issue I have now as you can see in the photo from when I carved it to pour the epoxy, there is an area of trouble.
I have provided two photos from above from the vector validator.
How do I eliminate the clustering of all these squares/nodes so that it doesn’t carve that area on the left side of the birds body?

mack bookcase Changed.crv (13.2 MB) That’s weird. I don’t see the same squares when I load this up. The squares might be grouped to some other vectors so you’ll need to ungroup to delete them. That looks awesome other than that.
