Hi everyone,
Plain black full screen appears when I try to open the software for my Om Automation vertical CNC 4-axis machine after a factory reset on my PC. The software was working perfectly before, but now, after reinstalling both the drivers and software, it crashes after a second without showing any error codes or logs.
I contacted the company, and they attempted to reinstall the software and drivers but couldnot resolve the issue.
Their suggestions were to either format my drive and reinstall Windows or get a new laptop or PC.
The software is locally made and doesn’t have any documentation or online support. Is there anything else I can try to fix this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thank you.
I had a gander at Om’s site and a few videos on YouTube. Didn’t see much in the way of support either (but the machines look super cool!). I can try to help figure out the crashes with you, though!
First, what are we working with, PC-wise? What’s the CPU/GPU/RAM/storage situation? What version of Windows are you running?
You mention “…it crashes after a second…” - can you nail that down a little more specifically?
When you clicked _______, you expected it to ___________, but it _________ed.
Did the window the software ran in just close? Did the OS freeze? Did the machine power down?
Are you familiar with the Windows Event Viewer? If not, that article will get you pointed in the right direction.
If you can cause the crash a few times, and then check out the Event Viewer, you might see something suggestive.
