What is HPDE…???

High density polyethylene

I know what that is, but I don’t know what HPDE is.

High-poly denseilene, of course.

I am normally not into production job, but had an order in for CPO Pride Day. Router, revolution and 1F JM knocked it out of the park.

Hey xenith
Wow that’s a lot of aluminum milling. Just curious what size of onefinity you have and how long it took. Was it a 1/4” endmill? Do you plan to polish it?

I never realized how much the red bull ring looks like a cartoon version of a whale.

@ChrisM
It does look a lot like a whale.

I have the pro woodworker. The ring started as a 1x2x4” block of 6061-T6. There was a roughing operation with a 1/4in o-flute and a parallel finishing operation with a 1/4in 2-flute ball endmill. It probably took about 40min total. It was supposed to be a test, so I didn’t have any real plans for finishing it.

That is very nice! Do you mind sharing what type of foam and what types of cutters you used?

Very cool, I’m just getting started, am planning on using carveco since it comes with the package. Can this file be converted or imported? My grandsons would love this game

I’m not sure how to convert files. I’m stil a newb.

Me too. I guess if you export it s an svg file it can then be imported to my carveco

This is a foam insert for a new product I am making. As to the foam I used itis closed cell toolbox foam and as to what bit I used I did most of this with what IDC calls “the beast”. and did the final profile cut with a simple upcut 1/8-inch bit from spectra. note I found it faster to cut the profile cuts with a band saw instead and just do the clearance cuts with the CNC no more worries about cutting all the way through or having that ragged edge you can see on the outer bottom edge. Oh and these are my ultra low profile clamps. You almost can’t run into these babies.

First time doing a shadow box and engraving in aluminum plate. Thanks Jon’s DIY for the idea of a rudis sword through a shadow box. Another satisfied customer.

Material:

  • Red gum (shadow box and mustang crest)
  • Mediterranean Olive (blade)
  • Hard marble (handle)
  • Walnut (guard and pommel)
  • Purple heart (inlay into blade)

Here is a 3D carved 2 ft x 3 ft yard sign I made. It is made of white oak and a local artist painted it. This is the largest and most complex project to date.

Nice!!! About how long did that take?

Nice! Where do you purchase your material?

It took a few days to carve. I didn’t run it overnight unattended.

I get hardwoods from a local, family run mill. The owner makes furniture and sells hardwoods as a side business.
