QCW Rail Swap Thread

Friendly thread here to organize QCW users that want to swap their older style end rails with newer rails.

As documented in Journeyman QCW change?, it seems there are going to be two kinds of QCW owners in the community: Those who like the new rails and those who like the old. Some newer QCW owners will want the old rails and have no option from 1F, some older owners will want the newer rails, but not so much that they are going to shell out the money for them.

If you’d like to swap, please reply to this thread with what you have (size of your QCW, old or new rails, and whether fixed from above or below) and what you are looking for. If someone in the community is looking for what you have, they can DM you. When your swap is complete, the original reply can be edited accordingly.

I have the original JM qcw style. I didn’t realize it had been updated until i went looking for the manual to cut replacement mdf wasteboard and noticed the layout and cut sizes were different! It sounds like perhaps you’ve used both? Is the spacing the only difference? It looks like the 2 end extrusions are changed to put the t-track at the end, that looks nice to me. Screenshot is new vs old.

do we know if those two rails and the different spacing are the only difference? Or does the whole qcw need to be shipped to swap?

There’s a third kind - ones who have found the QCW to be less useful than expected and are using the machine upgrade disassembly as a good reason to remove it and now have a surplus QCW. So anyone interested in getting one could grab a good used one.
