Has anyone successfully fabricated brackets and retrofitted the gantry attachments to raise up the gantry?? Seems like a metal fabrication job that could be done using aluminum material? Wondering if anyone has done this and has a template ready to mill??
You have to think about the physics. The higher the spindle the greater the rotational forces. Large commerical cnc machines have massive cast or welded frames. I think you will sacrifice the accuracy of the machine.
I just put aluminum blocks under all 4 corners and raised everything. No issues with it. 1F does have blocks they sell that go between the X and Y axis.
