Raising Z slider

Pasted this on FB site, but would like an answer before I get much further in on Wed morning. Installing a spindle (good bye router) the spindle is longer than the router & will work, but it would be nice to move the Z slider up a notch for the 22mm height gain, I recall in the manual that it was recommended not to raise the slider to the top position. Is there a reason other than the lever arm of the spindle, I have an X50 so am not too concerned about the 65mm spindle twisting the 50mm tubes, I tried slackening the 4 slider hold bolts, top 2 popped loose, lower 2 slipped the allen key. Metric & imperial, I have some bastard allen keys so can probably find a better fit for the 2 lower machine screws, I can live with the current set up, but will be hard pressed to carve a 2 inch deep pocket. Your thoughts please. PS raising the machine would be wonderful, but one of the hold down bolts would have to be cut through, through the wood of the table, at lease a week’s work total.

There should be no issue raising it to the top most position. We recommend doing fso for spindles, and the lowest for the makita router.
