I have a few bits that get used at a much higher rate than the rest of my bits (i.e. 1/4 end mills). I spend a lot of time wondering when to change the bits out. They are expensive so I don’t want to change them out early, so I stare at my cuts wondering “when are they getting too dull”. Especially once an ATC is installed it gets easy to loose track of just how much cutting a bit has done.
One thing that would make this thought process easier is if my tool table had a resettable “tool time counter” for the tools entered into the table. It seems the Redline is already collecting this info, i.e. it knows when a tool is used, and it knows how long it runs the tool because that display keeps a running clock during program runs.
