I bought a Redline spindle a couple of months ago but haven’t installed it yet. The reason is that I’m hearing about the problems with the EMI produced by the spindle and Redline VFD. I was talking to my son about it. He used Claude AI to ask the following question:
I have a Onefinity Foreman CNC machine, with a Buildbotics controller and a Makita router as the cutter. I have recently purchased a Redline spindle motor to replace the Makita, but I have a lot of worries about line noise, grounding and potentially and potentially burning out my equipment. Can you help me understand how to best install the new lines to run the spindle motor and ensure that they are properly grounded/shielded?
The answer he received was amazing. I wanted to post it here but it was 3 pages of a PDF document. I have placed the PDF in my Dropbox public folder. Given the information Claude returned, I feel confident enough to install the spindle. Use the following link to view the PDF:
p.s. I contacted Redline customer support and they verified that all cables supplied with thee kit are shielded.
