RPM override with redline spindle and Masso not always working

I have noticed here recently that the RPM override is not always working. I slide it one way or the other and nothing happens. I try again and it works. Sometimes I have to adjust it a few times to get it to work properly. Anyone had this issue?

Sometimes I will adjust it and it doesn’t change, then a few minutes later it changes.

Do you mean the slider on the MASSO isn’t registering the spindle over ride (software)
Or
In manual mode on the redline drive screen the knib isn’t going faster/slower when turned?

If the former, reach out directly to MASSO.

The slider on the Masso controller

Sounds like a masso firmware issue. Reach out to them directly via a support ticket on their website.

question on the override feature. when I run a program, the override is already at 100% so how do I increase it? I have not dared to hit reset while I am running. Is that how it is done?

Reset just resets the feed rate to 100% (20%-100% scale). If you want it faster, adjust your gcode. The RPM can be adjusted from 10%-150%. Both default/reset to 100% (which is what is called out in your gcode). At least on my Masso. This can help you dial-in feeds and speeds for that bit. But one should update their tool database with this new knowledge and not rely on Masso override except to dial-in.
