Hi, I’m a new user of the OneFinity Machine (X35 with stiffy) although not new the CNC world in general. I might be dating myself but I used to be a CNC Programmer for large industrial CNC machine (typically Fanuc controls). In those days you would still largely program manually in Gcodes. Because of that manual process you would unfortunately be prone to Gcodes errors in programming. One feature that was great to have to avoid crashing your machine and whatever damage comes with it, was having a Speed and Feed override buttons, one would control the RPM from 0 to 150% and the other, the Feed rate from 0 to 150%. The RPM and Feed controls where rotary dials on the controller and were used to compensate for improper RPM speed and Feed in the program during the machining operation. Granted that for most users the RPM control can be mostly done directly on the router BUT the most practical feature was the feed control, when running the program, you would could bring it down close to 0% to slow it down and see if it was actually going where you wanted to be. If not, bring it to 0% to stop it from moving, avoid a crash and could and this point stop the program to correct the programming error. Two questions:
- Is there currently such a feature on the 1F machine with the Buildbotics controls?
- If not, are there other users that would think this would be a great upgrade to have?
Thank you in advance.
