Soft alarm from previously run job (resolved)

Hello. I went to re-run a gcode file I ran 4 times about 10 days ago, and I’m now getting the following alert message on the Masso screen during the run:

Soft alarm on Y axis motion at line No: 518

The gcode has not been updated at all since the successful runs. I can jog the Y axis past the spot where it is throwing this error, so I don’t think it’s an obstruction of any kind.

I’ve read that soft alarms indicate the instruction would move outside the soft limits. In this instance, the position of the cutter when the alarm is displayed (which consistently happens at the same point) is “inside” of the outermost points in the job which have already been carved, in both the X and Y dimensions. Is there another situation which can cause a soft alarm?

The work piece is positioned against stops which are well within the cutting area of the machine. (Journeyman) In fact, the stops are in dog holes which were cut by the machine. The machine has been homed. I reloaded the factory settings from a file sourced from Onefinity just to ensure that something hadn’t happened to the settings, and that didn’t change anything.

Any suggestions as to how to resolve this?

Thanks!

UIpdate: I got it sorted. The controller was throwing an alarm not about the current position of the cutter, but about an instruction about 200 lines farther down in the file. I clearly had the piece positioned “higher” in the Y axis than in previous runs. I repositioned, and the job is running as expected.
