Squaring the x 50

as mentioned before i recently solld my x50 and have a new elite on the way. I helped the person I sold it to toset it up on his table. following al the steps in the manual. what i wanted to know is I did the corner to corner measurement and got it to within 1/16 of an inch is that good enough?

Probably. I got my machine within 1/16th and I’m a happy camper. A lot depends on what your buyer wants to do with the machine. A good first step is to run the OF test file here:

Measure the results carefully against the published dimensions, preferably with a good caliper. If all is well, work up to more complex cuts.
Don’t forget to check for co-planarity (fishing line test), tram the machine (especially Z-axis) and do a wasteboard flattening pass or two. There’s plenty of advice on this forum about all of this.

Imagine my surprise when I got to the address and found his table was a 3/4 inch 4x8 plywood with a 2x4 frame on two rickety sawhorses? I don’t think anything could help with that base.

That learning curve might be steeper than most. Might just want to set it on the floor.
