Thank you. I see the mistake. I had supports disabled. What material did you use?
Mine is Elegoo Rapid PETG since I already had it in the AMS. Not much stress on this part so PLA would be fine Im sure.
Yes, I place the 4" side down and added auto tree support like Calvin suggested.
Just an FYI. I spent the weekend printing the 4" adaptor with clip. Microsoft felt the need to reboot my computer in the middle of the night when the job was only 1/2 done. I took the failed print (started with the small end first) and tried it. Low and behold, it was too small and would not fit over the dust port. I had to scale the design to 100.1% to get it to fit. Restarted the print and now everything works. I was able to get my 4" hose to stretch over the large end even with the up-scale. Maybe printers vary, but I suggest you print 1/2" of the small end first and try it before you do the entire print.
Hey Steve, I’m curious, what kind of printer do you have that requires your computer to be running to print with it. I’m just asking because I’ve not seen anything like that in quite some time.
It’s a very old MakerGear M2. I don’t use it or the computer very often, which explains the reboot. I just ordered a new PRUSA “Core One” but it won’t arrive for a few weeks.
That one has been around for a while.
Onefinity - I too have experienced the Suck It SM catching on the Z carriage, causing a Z - fault a number of times, …
I understand you need the thickness for strength, but maybe bevel the upper/lower rear edges.???.
Adding my own mock up, having the elite foreman and the ATC dust boot, the original wasn’t tall enough to clear the motors / heat sinks at the top. This leads to the 4” dust hose resting and melting on the z-axis spindle motor….
Bambolab cut, made connectors with hex plugs, they are not symmetrical so make sure you align them right before gluing.
Also added the mount I enlarged and made taller.
