Assuming that the rotary is set up along the X Axis (so all carving is done in X and Z directions), does this mean that the spindle can also move in the Y Axis (like indexed carving)?
If so, can VCarve Pro, and Masso’s post processor handle it?
So I’ve just been playing around with it but this is a spindle cut with a hexagonal section so yes it can index
Please disregard the quality I have used TinkerCad to model the part Not the best resolution

That is not what is called indexed 4 axis cutting. That is true 3 axis.
Imagine cutting a hollow box shaped area in your piece. 3 axis will not reach into the corners.
Indexed 4 axis means the rotation stops and the cutter moves in x and y direction, then you can cut a hollow box.
I started yesterday reading the manual. Was impressed. I have been looking for something that can do indexed 4 Axis for a long time. Since it has a Masso post processor I will get it.
Indexing can also be achieved with F360. Each index is a new set up which follows the previous and more or less rest machines betweens setups. You would need to MDI A axis to transition between setups .
