Unknown "travel" error

Started up one of my first cuts. 3D roughing path. I homed X,Y,Z of my project with the probe tool, and then pushed start. It requested the tool change, then went to my z probe and touched down, then it went back to the start position and gave this error. Does this have something to do with the location of my touch probe or something else? My touch probe is not on my waste board, its in front and on the benchtop.

Is the probe within the machine’s accessible area? If your waste board covers the entire machine area, and the probe is outside the waste board, then it is not accessible by the machine.

If the limit sensor is reached, then yes your touch probe needs to be moved back

waste board is intentionally pushed back so that the bits can lower right over the center of it yes. So that shouldnt be the issue I wouldnt think?

my bits can still reach directly over the center of the probe so thats what has me confused

Is the limit sensor reached it should be about 1/4" back from the edge of the slot

It might not have anything to do with the touch probe, but rather with the toolpath it’s about to run. Based on where you set your XY zero, does your toolpath travel outside the machine boundaries?

this is a good point I will check this. Thank you!

no its just a rectangular piece of wood basically in the middle of the wasteboard. I will double check though thank you!

The actual material size doesn’t matter. What matters is the toolpath (g-code) that you are instructing the machine to follow. Maybe this post in another topic will help explain.
