From my reading of JTech’s documents they are using a collimating lens to concentrate all 12 (12! holy smokes!) 7 watt laser sources. Of course the nerd in me really would like to understand why it takes twelve 7 watt sources to get to 64 watts of output, but while interesting isn’t really pertinent to the conversation.
This is also why your spot becomes more rectangular and less round. Perhaps oval is a better description but most laser docs I’ve read consider it rectangular.
Don’t take this to the bank, but I believe the diodes are square as well as the light pattern they put out. I don’t believe 7 watts is optical power output, but input power rating.
Thanks Jimmy, I just ordered the JT SmokeBoot. I did not know it existed! I already have the fan from my made-up smoke collector. Judging by the photos, you likely have to be careful not to hit the homing button while mounted or have a large project that might hit the side rails. Should work well….
I know I’m late to the game, but I love the 64W!! I just did several test cuts through a half in plywood, and 100% at 40S 2 passes blew it out of the water! Quickly! So did the 20, 10 and 15 speeds! I am going to lower the power to see if I get cleaner cuts! I used the 24W to engrave, it was beautiful and fast! I have a 55Gallon fish tank blower to help with the fumes and I ventilate through a window next to the machine! Y’all, this is gonna be fun!!!
