Vcarve, any bit advice to use?

Good evening, everyone. I’m new to using VCarve Pro and am working on my first award plaque. I’m having trouble deciding which bit to use for detailed logos. Does anyone have any recommendations or advice?

A 90º V-bit would be very common. Try the various bits in VCarve, view them in the 3D view, rotate it around and see what you like. With V-carving the depth* of your cut is set by the width of the carve and the angle of the bit. Find the right angle for the depth you want.

*assuming you want a V in the bottom and not a flat bottom.

I use Vbits. The smaller the letters, the smaller the angle.

I agree with this. There is a lot of small detail in there. I would use a 30 degree included V or smaller for some of it and a 60 or 90 degree for other parts of it.
And even then I am not sure that some of the detail will be readable unless the plaque is pretty big.

Look at the amana 46280

You can get very intricate inlays with that but and a clearance bit

Here is my example

Like one of the other poster noted. Youll need to use a VERY fine vbit to pull those smaller images off, and your Z is going to have to be perfect…like make sure you workpiece is perfectly flat and level at all corners. Size is also very important, the smaller the plaque the more difficult it will be to pull those details out. Not that it helps, but if I were making that, Id use my cnc for the outline and the large middle words and use my laser for the logos. Ive done all three of those logos on my laser, I was asked to put them on slate coasters.
