VCarve Pro - Cutting Grooves Help Request

Hello All -

Still new to the game and have gone through YouTube, Google, etc. and haven’t found a solution. Here’s the situation.

I’m looking to sandwich a PVC pipe with outer diameter of 0.842" equally between 2 pieces of material. How would I go about cutting a 0.421" groove into said material?

Thank you for your time and suggestions!

Craig

Craig, assuming you have a round-nosed bit, take a look at the moulding toolpath. A straight line will be your drive rail, a half-circle of appropriate diameter is the profile.

Hi John,

Yes, have the Amana 46369-K 1/8" Ball Nose Spiral Up-Cut bit. I’ll get to work on that right now!
Thank you very much for replying to this thread.

Thank you,

Craig

Hi John,

Had to watch a couple tutorial videos to get a firm understanding, but thanks to you in pointing me in the right direction, I was able to model what I needed.

Tomorrow I’ll give it a run on the CNC. Thanks Again!

Craig
