My only suggestion is the bearing at the end of the lead screw or the top of the lead screw. the bottom one looks like it might be dirty. I don’t think it is in the rails and sounds more like its coming from the lead screw hopefully its not the servo. I would try taking the servo motor off and turn the lead screw by hand and see if it turns free or not. It might even be the lead screw nut making that noise. The lead screw nut might need to be cleaned and oiled.
Hope this helps. Its the only suggestion I can give you.
Cheers and Happy Carving

Well, definitely not normal. typical with things like this, that sound signals the mechanism is not longer square – one side is higher or lower than the other, causing binding. However, given the gantry setup, that would be very difficult to do. I’d move it all the way to the top and see if both bearings are equal distance from the top plate. failing that, recommend contacting @OnefinityCNC support. I vaguely remember something from years ago that this could happen and the gantry needed to be replaced? I could be completely mis-remembering that though.

Thanks Joe and Tom. I will give the Z Axis a run through.
