I have a Woodworker Pro model that I purchased in 2023, and it is mounted on a QCW Frame with the rolling-folding leg set. I got this setup so I could fold the CNC and put it against the wall in my garage and still get full use of my garage for (both of) our vehicles.
I also added the Stiffy to my WW Pro.
I am evaluating the Elite Gen-2 Woodworker as a complete replacement, and have a few questions.
- Will it fit my QCW rolling-folding frame, and is it more or less the same weight? I struggled with the setup and teardown at the beginning, but overcame that with the aid of a snowmobile lift.
- I understand that the Elite Gen 2 uses infrared sensors for homing, and saw a reference to an “auto square” feature. Calibrating the WW Pro for “square” was one of my greatest frustrations (and adventures), and I never really got repeatable results in this area. This issue caused me to give up on one of my use cases for my 1F, which was to cut jigs and fixtures for use with my (Festool and Benchdogs) MFT tables. Do these features provide better precision and repeatability of alignment?
- For storage, I usually detach the screen from the mount and unplug the cables, and then fold the screen mount back to avoid issues when rolling the machine against the wall. How easily is this done with the Gen 2 Redline HMI screen? The manuals show just a small number of connections on the screen.
Thanks in advance.
