Well I have been using my woodworker pro cnc for months now with no problems. Cutting almost everyday and everything was a breeze. Well I attempted to cut a 32 inch long piece and 3/4 the way of the cut the motor has like a change over noise and adds 1000mm to the home/cutting distance. Then will continue with the cut and bounce off the limiter unit I stop it. This gives me no errors and I can not find any related posts about this issue. HERE IS THE LINK TO THE PROBLEM: https://youtube.com/shorts/g5ORB-ydGqM?feature=share
Yes I have rewritten the file 3 times to eliminate the possibility it could be in the file/coding. It is not an issue there but I know it is an issue with the machine, I tried to mess with the settings but nothing changed the outcome. I reset all to factory settings and issue is still there. Please if you have any tips or anything I need to get some orders out on Monday!
Also I forgot to add that this does not happen during jogging or any small cuts.
Are you 3D carving, maybe importing an STL and/or vector files created in sophisticated/professional CAD software, with a lot of nodes/ detail?
The buildbotics controller is running on the Rasperry pi, which is a very weak computer that cannot necessarily handle complicated files.
I upgraded to the Masso. I have never had a problem with the controller failing since, I strongly recommend upgrading in your case. The Buildbotics might work well for hobbyist, but cannot handle too much data.
I would never know beforehand when it would loose steps, which resulted in a few nice blanks become firewood. I lost trust in the buildbotics controller
I had the same issue, lost steps mean that the controller loses the machine and hence also the work X/Y. It may then run into the limits of your machine. In my case the profile toolpath had too many nodes/too much detail.
The solution for now would be to reduce resultion somehow. I do not know which CAD/CAM software you are using. For example in Vcarve a possibilty would be to reduce the modelling resolution, for example from Maximum to very high, high or standart. You will lose some detail.
