I could really use some advice on a dilemma I’m having. I cut out five beer-shaped plaques, and everything was going smoothly until the fifth one. I noticed it didn’t cut all the way through like the others. At first, I ignored it, but then I tried carving a groove in another project. The moment the bit hits the surface, it doesn’t plunge through—it skips or gets pushed back up, almost like it doesn’t have enough power. I also homed the machine and tried again but it is still doing the same thing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Most likely, the bolts on the z slider that hold it to the x gantry block are loose and the z bearings are hitting them, preventing it from going down. Tighten the 4 bolts and you should be good to go!
