I ran a series of test on the tool setter and basically after a tool change then back to work origin the Z is consistently off about .009” as I can slide a paper strip under easily. The probe setting was also off but I corrected that by increasing the block size from .591 to .596. I don’t see any setting in the config that can be adjusted for the tool setter.
I suppose I can adjust the size in software so the gcode can compensate but that seems messy. Am I missing something?
I would compensate in block size settings to make it right. My thought on fixing the Z value difference. There could be several variables that could make it off a bit, electronics, tool setter block could have a burr somewhere throwing it off, or the servo motor. Cannot say for sure but I think the conversion in the electronics from metric to imperial might have something to do with it. You gotta remember these CNC machines are hobby machines not industrial machines.
I did change the probe block size and have the probing dialed in perfectly. But the tool setter Z starting height is set to -55.5 and will not take a setting of -55.495 as it only apparently accepts one decimal place.
