Z Probe not working

Hello, we had an accident and started a carve with the probe still attached which didn’t work out very well. We stripped and resoldered the probe wires and verified that the input changes on the F1 screen when the magnet touches the XYZ block. However the input does not change when touching the bit with the XYZ block while the magnet is attached to the spindle. Any thoughts on troubleshooting?
Onefinity Journeyman Elite with PWNCNC spindle. has been working fine for a year.

I think somewhere on this board, someone had a similar problem and was solved by reversing the 2 wires on the back of the Masso. I think the block was acting as the grounding magnet, or some such.
