I just installed my new Z20 and made the necessary configuration changes. I found it odd that the homing stall current threshold had to be set less than 1 amp, otherwise it would not home. It’s like it wouldn’t generate 1 amp of current when stalled, even though it’s rated for 2.8 amps. I’m curious as to what others have theirs set for? I’m a little concerned that the stepper motor is not capable of generating the rated 2.8 amps, therefore would cause it to miss steps under load.
It’s normal as the ball screw has a steeper pitch than the z-16. Absolutly no need to be concerned at all.

Thanks for the quick response, but why would it not be able to create more than 1 amp during a stall? It would just sit there and bang up against the stop until I hit emergency stop.
it can, just raise up the stall amps above 1 and it will.
again, adjust stall amps is normal and will most likely have to be done every time the weather changes:

I set it back to 1 amp (from .6) and it now works. That’s just weird. Anyway, thanks for you help.
