1 on 1 zoom training

Hi. Iv been struggling with my current project. And the support from this forum has been amazing!!! Im looking to get some 1 on 1 help.

Ill send over my and trouble shoot it together.

Again the people here have been so helpful. But its still not lining up for me.

Thanks

It may help people if you describe it.:

  • where the problems lie (modelling, toolpaths, machine)
  • what are you trying to achieve (3d, 2d cuts, svg signs etc)
  • what CAD, CAM software you’re using (carvco, VCarve, F360…)
  • which 1F machine you have ( elite with masso controller or pre-elite with buildbotics controller…)

Good luck.

Good point!!

Im using a 36" one finity and carveco.

Im struggling to get my z heights figured out. Im also using it to cut marble instead of wood. So the touch probe doesnt work with my bits.

You don’t really need the touch probe to set the origin or the z-height. But,

  1. You can use a standard 1/4 inch bit to probe to set the origin; and
  2. You can use the paper method to set the Z with your marble cutting bits.

Yea i did that. But for some reason my machine is still cutting air above my material… and iv been playing around with all the variables

I don’t know too much about CarveCo, but if it’s similar to VCarve, you should check that your Z Zero isn’t set to the machine bed while you reference your Z axis to the material surface when setting up the carve. That will produce the the symptom you are describing.

I did try that. But now I’m starting to think that I tried it but did it wrong lol.

Might just have to restart and log all my attempts to figure it out.

You need a Carvco savvy person. Unfortunately thats not me.

Thanks for your time though. It’s an amazing forum.!!

Ill get it eventually lol
