3D carve losing Y position during job

I’m doing 3D carving and have run into a problem. This has happened before and resulted in the loss of a nice chunk of cherry. In the roughing tool path, everything runs fine at the start but then in the middle of the carve, the Y position changes to the middle of the job. I’m starting the job in the Center. The Machining Limit Boundary is set to Material Boundary with no Offset. The Machining Allowance is set to 0.0. The Roughing Strategy is set to 3D Raster with a Raster Angle of 90° (with the grain). I calculate the job the run the preview Selected Toolpath. Everything looks fine when I run Preview Selected Toolpath. When I run the CAM portion of the project on my Onefinity CNC, it starts out fine. But then, for some reason into the job, the CNC runs to the lower limit of the Y position, crashes against the Y limit, sits there chattering, then runs to about half way up the project. Its like the Y limits have changed. I have to Stop the job. Any ideas if this is a software or hardware problem? Like I said, this has happened on another job as well. BTW, I’m using an early Buildbotics controller that is labeled as a Onefinity controller. Also using a Makita router as the spindle.

I now know it is a hardware problem. Are deeply searching the forum, I see other people have had the same problem. The bug was noted in very early versions of the firmware (in 2021 - version 1.0.6 I believe. I am at version 1.6.4 but noticed a newer version 1.6.6 is out. I’ll update. But I also need to check the Jerk setting. Y steppers hardware looks fine.
