3D toolpath like slot in Fusion 360

I’m trying to make flutes in a table leg. I have a rotary that I’ll manually index 30 degrees. There’s two parts on the leg that I want to add fluting to. One is flat and I can use the slot toolpath. The other is slightly tapered. What I would like is for it to be a single pass at the correct depth. Most likely it’ll be a 1/2" ball nose mill so the depth will be 1/4". I’m not an expert with fusion so I’m reaching out to see how others would do it.

Hello Alex,
Probably the easiest way is using 3D->Project strategy. Just project a line onto the surface shape of the leg then the cutter will follow that line at the depth you set.
Some pics and the .f3d file are attached so you can experiment.
Note you can’t see the line projected down to the surface - only when you execute the toolpath it projects down to the depth below the surface you set.

Thanks for the reply Chris. I tried using the project toolpath strategy but it gives me an error saying there’s no curves.

Thanks Chris. I see hat I was doing wrong. I was selecting the path as the machine boundary when I should have been selecting it as the Curve Selections. Looks like I’ve got it now. Still learning, slowly.

I have the legs glued up (cherry) and hopefully next week will have time to actually try making them. I’ll report back and hopefully have some pictures to show success.
