4" Dust Hose Mount

I am on the other end. Got my order in about 7pm on 1/6/25 so I am waaaaaaay at the back of the line.

I’m watching along to see how close to the projected timeline they are based on everyone else’s orders.

I managed to wait 18+ months for a $200 tax stamp once, but the 3 month lead on this is so much harder to just forget about for a while.

@mrKrag they have an expected delivery chart based on the serial number of your order. That should give you a good idea of when it will ship. Mine was exactly as they noted.

@mrKrag go to support and shipping info. Scroll all the way down and they have a separate noting on shipping based on current order numbers. But that might only be for the Black Friday deals

Yeah that’s what I’m going off of. I am in that bunch. I put all the order numbers and dates they gave into google sheets and did an arrayformula(forecast) on it to run even farther ahead than they gave in that chart.
Sumbitch, the forecast order number for 4/3/25 was exactly mine. So I am telling myself shipping on 4/6 and if it is even a day sooner yay me.

I like that idea. It’d also be cool to watch the chips fly up! I may incorporate that if I can’t find something else. Just have to figure out a convenient way to attach the nighthawk boot fittings to the clear PVC. I will routinely disconnect the hose to clean up bits here and there when the machine isn’t operating; it’s one of the things I like about the nighthawk boot.

Thanks for the tip!

Here are a couple of things to look at. The first is a boom arm setup with lazy susan swivel (note this is sized for 2.5 inch hose) and the second are some magnetic dust collection fittings that might help with the quick detach feature you’re looking for.
Edit: just noticed the creator of the magnetic dust collection fittings is also named Robert. Neither of these are my models, just sharing some stuff I’ve seen (I have printed and used the dust collection fittings all over my shop and really like them).

Jake,
I use the dust boot with a 4" hose and there is no problem. It is great with the saw dust. I have been using it for almost 2 years.

See following pictures it is great.

I using a bungee cord from the ceiling with an eye hook. When I turn on my dust collector it takes the slack out of the hose. I am using a 4” with a 3hp dust collector for my shop.

I’ve posted a couple different designs. One for the Makita router and then one for a spindle. Not sure how to locate them on the forum off the top of my head. Mine are 3D printed. Let me know if you are interested and I will see if I can find the link.

I went with a rear mount. I bought the files from uglydog and printed them on my Bambu. I added a few support details of my own design and suspended the hose from above. Here are a few photos. Hope this helps.

I appreciate the offer, Rex! But I was actually able to find the thread you posted. I took a look and that helped guide me.

I ended up swapping out my dust collection hose based on your recommendation. What I had been using was a bit more stiff and wouldn’t take up the slack when the DC was pulling. Good call!

I designed and printed a little mount that holds the hose directly in front of the spindle but still allows it to be removed to manually suck up anything thrown out from the boot. I used the bungee suggestion from @egantner2 but then also tied that to a small gantry made from some scrap unistrut and a dolly bearing I had laying around. Works a treat.

I appreciate everyone’s input. It helped guide me to where I needed to be. Thanks!
