Adjustable height table for my Elite Foreman - 4 column lift tied into the Masso

I got tired of my CNC living at one fixed height, so I built a table that moves.

Four LG-12 linear actuator columns at the corners lift the whole thing, and I tied the height control into the Masso G3 so it comes up and down without me crawling around with a wrench. Standing height for setup and tool changes, dropped down when I want to see what the bit is doing, and low when I am loading heavy stock on by myself.

The other piece I wanted was a pass-through. The table has a drop leaf, so long stock can run straight through instead of being limited by the machine’s travel. That was the part I was least sure would work and it ended up being my favorite thing about it.

Frame is welded steel. I modeled the whole thing in Fusion before cutting anything, which saved me from a couple of expensive mistakes on the column mounts.

Happy to answer questions - the two things that took the most work were keeping the four columns in sync and getting the height control wired into the Masso cleanly.

That looks awesome. I wish I could weld.
For making sure they all move up and down at the same time, could you have used 4 sprockets and a chain running to 1 stepper motor?

I was thinking of that also, basically like a 4 post car lift but I had the columns on hand and got tired of kicking them out of the way all the time.

If I had a concern it would be the rigidity of the table on the 4 linear actuators, do you have a way to lock it in after you move it. Otherwise its a great idea.

Yep I used linear rails but to be honest the way the OneFinity is built it’s never really needed them but I wanted to be better safe than sorry plus I’ve had them in the shop for over 2 years and finally found a place for them. Always good to horde tools and equipment

That’s cool, there have been several times I wish I could lower the table to get a thicker part in the machine.
